One of the most anticipated launches of the year, the new Maruti Suzuki Swift was launched in India on 17th Aug'11. The new Swift starts at Rs 4.22 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi for the LXi version and goes all the way up to Rs 6.38 lakh for the new ZDi version.
The prices of the base variant are just under Rs 15,000 more than the outgoing LXi version, ex-Delhi. The new Swift comes in six different trim levels and the prices are as follows (all prices ex-showroom, Delhi)

Over the previous model, the Swift now has an additional trim, the ZDi, that mimics all the features of the ZXi such as twin airbags, ABS with EBD, automatic climate control, 15-inch alloys and 185/65 R15 tubeless tyres, turn indicators on the mirrors, rear-wash wipe with demister, in-built audio with six speakers and controls on the steering wheel among others.
The car is 90 mm longer than before, with the wheelbase being 50 mm longer. This has led to improved space on the inside - an additional 20 mm legroom and 28 mm kneeroom. The car is slightly wider and taller than before but is up to 30 kg lighter for the petrol and up to 15 kg lighter for the diesel.
