Automatic transmissions with Triptronic, have all the advantages and technical features of the automatic
transmission. Triptronic allows the driver to override the automatic mode by moving the lever into a
second (Triptronic) shift gate. Here, the gears are arranged one after the other as in a motorcycle or
racing car sequential gearbox. In other words, changing up is achieved by pushing the gear lever
forwards, and changing down by pulling the gear lever backwards. Triptronic provides the convenience of
an automatic and the driving enjoyment and sportiness of a manual gearbox. Safety, e.g. when
overtaking, is provided by the automatic change-up feature when the engine speed limit is reached. The
sporty driver benefits from changing down and using the engine for braking before a bend or when
climbing hills.

Vento Diesel

The TDI badge identifies all the Group's diesel-powered models featuring diesel direct injection and a
turbocharger. Characteristic features of the TDI engines are fuel economy, low emissions, high pulling
power (torque) and outstanding power efficiency. Functionality: A turbocharger supplies the engine with
fresh air, thereby providing optimum cylinder charging. After compression, the diesel is injected directly
into the cylinders at very high pressure by way of a nozzle. Effective engine encapsulation keeps noise to
a minimum, while hydraulic engine mounts ensure smooth, low-vibration running.

Royal Enfield Classic Desert Storm

The Classic Desert Storm comes to you with a “sand” paint scheme reminiscent of the war era, a time when Royal Enfield motorcycles proved their capabilities and battle worthiness by impeccable service to soldiers in harsh conditions of the desert. Donning a younger today resplendent with styling cues one would expect only from a genuine Royal Enfield: single cylinder air-cooled pushrod engine, 1950s style nacelle and toolboxes, traditional paint scheme and buffed engine components, this motorcycle is all set to bring you the pleasures of modern motorcycling while reflecting the aura of eternal classic styling.

Royal Enfield has priced the Desert Storm at Rs 1.58 lakh (on-road Mumbai) which is Rs 3,000 more than the Classic 500. The Classic Chrome is Rs 10,000 more than the Classic 500 with a price tag of Rs 1.68 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).

The Bullet 500 was launched in June 1993 and went on to become the most coveted model of the brand. In 1998, Royal Enfield developed and introduced a new platform of products with a lean burn engine. This engine not only meets the stringent emission norms, but also offers more power and fuel economy. Bullet Machismo, a true classic motorcycle, was launched with this engine. To address the needs of all the urban customers, Royal Enfield launched the first Cruiser bike “Thunderbird”. It was an instant success. It bagged the BBC Wheels Award for the best Cruiser in India in 2002. More awards followed and the Bullet entered the Indian Automotive “Hall of Pride” award for defining the motorcycles in the Indian perspective.

In the last 5 years, Royal Enfield has made significant strides in the global market. From North America to Europe in the West and Japan to Australia in the East today Royal Enfield has a pride of place across the globe. In fact Royal Enfield was ranked among the top 10 selling brands in UK in the 125 – 500 cc category.

Renault Koleos

Renault Koleos comes with  latest generation 2.0 dCi diesel engine with an automatic six-speed transmission. The turbo kicks in at around 1700rpm. Max power output is rated at 150PS at 4000rpm while there’s a hefty 320Nm of maximum torque available at 2000rpm. It’s a strong engine and well suited for both the city and highway driving, and one clear advantage is that it powers a SUV that weighs just 1.7 tonnes which is around 100kgs lighter than its closest competition, the Santa Fe.

Renault has provided the Koleos with a primary 2WD drivetrain with the clutch transferring power to the front and not rear wheels. You can manually select between a 2WD or 4WD or automatic mode by flipping a switch on the centre stack. In auto mode, the Koleos senses wheel slip and without human intervention shifts into 4WD to counter it.

Feature wise you get the best sound system there is in the segment, courtesy an eight-speaker Bose system with rich and clear tones, climate control, Bluetooth cell phone connectivity, parking sensors etc. On the safety front the Koleos comes with a 5-star NCAP rating which is higher than the Santa Fe, is equipped with ABS, Brake Assist and EBD. The price of Koleos is Rs 2,299,000 (ex-showroom Delhi).
